Welcome to Centre City! Our main priority here at Centre City
is the growth and achievement of our students. We are constantly
working to develop a school culture that is flexible, collaborative,
innovative, and supportive of efforts to improve achievement of
all of our students.
To fully support a child's academic success, parents need to
take an active role in the educational process. Parental involvement
is strongly encouraged and welcomed at Centre City. Our PTO is
an organization that emphasizes parents and teachers working together
to help meet the needs of our children. Other organizations and
committees such as the District Advisory Council, our School Based
Planning Team, and other specific committees offer parents and
community members the opportunity to become involved in the school
decision making process.
Each month our students are recognized for their accomplishments
in the classroom. Teachers select students based on specific criteria
to receive the "Student of the Month" and "Caring
Kid" award. A school assembly is held to present these awards
to these special students in front of their peers. These programs
develop school pride and praises students for their hard work
and success.
The faculty and staff of Centre City School are dedicated to
the premise that all students have a right to the very best education.
I wish to assure you that we will continue to devote our efforts
towards improving the quality of our school programs at Centre
City. Join us in our journey to "soar above and beyond"
the rest!

Centre City School is one of three elementary schools in Mantua
Township. The school houses a special needs preschool and regular
kindergarten through fourth grade population of approximately
575 students. Our school curriculum includes programs in art,
music, library, physical education, computer education, Spanish,
speech, guidance, basic skills instruction, and enrichment. Each
of these special areas are taught by a certified teacher holding
the appropriate teaching certification. Our fourth grade students
also have the opportunity to become involved with instrumental
music, choir, band, and student council. Other exciting activities
that take place each year are the art show, curriculum fair, and
field day.
With regard to our school facility, the Centre City School has
internet connections in each classroom which are connected to
a Local Area Network. The Local Area Network is supported by a
fiber optic connection which provides for the fastest possible
communications both within and outside the school building. The
school highlights a state of the art computer lab, a modern media
center, full size gymnasium-cafeteria and a well equipped playground.
Centre City School is also fully air-conditioned which provides
the best possible learning environment.
